As the ongoing pandemic keeps many folks in isolation, especially during winter months, a West Philly non-profit and art gallery, One For All, continues its work of supporting local artists and bringing people together. This winter, One For All, an all-women (and LGBT) and currently all-volunteer run organization, has opened an exhibition, “stARTing conversations“, which sparks meaningful reflection and discourse at the times of the pandemic and civil unrest.

The exhibition features an intimate array of eight local artists’ visual social reflections. One of the featured artists is Zoe Lowry, who presents an interactive, multi-sensory installation of large digital illustrations on fabric. Zoe has created an inviting, positive space for participants to explore concepts of self awareness and self love as a way to meaningfully connect with others.

Other featured artists and work include a conceptual light room by Keenan Austin, environmental photography by Caroline Hicks, and more.

The exhibition is on display through February 28th at the gallery, located at 4751 Woodland Ave. Walk-in hours are Monday through Saturday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Viewings by appointment are also available – please call or text: 267.225.5667. For more info and virtual exhibit, go here.

One For All was founded in Spring 2019 by artist and educator Parker Jackson, who has been running arts programming and events for the past 12 years. The non-profit organization provides professional and affordable arts resources for emerging artists and affordable quality arts programming to Philadelphia youth and adults.

One For All is currently offering a new free/donation based in-person art class for preschoolers, beginning this Saturday. More participants are welcome (more info can be found here).

“We love this community and we are so excited to start classes up this spring,” says Jackson. “This Saturday we are thrilled to finally have some small artists in the studio painting with us!”

Local artists are welcome to check out information on artist calls and membership at One For All.
